How to Become a Member

If you're serious about having a fun time, join us. Take member courses, join your fellow members on cruises and rendezvous, and participate in civic service activities. If you are at least 18 years of age with a passion for boating and a desire to learn how to do it safely, you can become a member of the United States Power Squadrons. There are several ways to do this:

Note: Former members wishing to restore their United States Power Squadron membership should call Customer Service at  (888) 367-8777 x0 to initiate the reinstatement process.

 Although USPS currently has no education requirement for membership, YSPS reccomends that members pass a NASBLA “approved” boating course.

USPS or NASBLA approved courses include: USCG Captain's License, a degree from the US Naval Academy, USCG Academy, US Merchant Marine Academy or any boating course carrying NASBLA certification.
